Isis and Osiris

Isis an important member of the Egyptian mythology and pantheon, was a powerful sorceress and healer, the daughter of Ra, and wife of Osiris that gave birth to Horus. Isis, as such a prominent character that is still being worshiped today, has a lot of information that can’t be covered in a single reasonably lengthy video. If this video does well and gets 100 likes I’ll make a second part exploring more about Isis and her role in the evolution of humankind's consciousness. Going down the lines of Jungian Psychology Erich Neumann states that Isis falls under the archetype of the Great Mother and later she operates as the Anima. Psychologist James Hillman criticizes Neumann's reductionism in interpreting every kind of female figure and image as a symbol of the Great Mother. Hillman suggests that "If one's research shows results of this kind, i.e., where all data indicate one dominant hypothesis, then it is time to ask a psychological question about the hypothesis." He also goes saying that: "The mythical is the speculum of the psychological, its reflection beyond the personal. Myth provides the objective aspect of the subjective meanings in psychic events. Without myth it would all be me, personally narrowed to the history of a case. Myth stands back of psyche, acting as a foil for objective reflection." How does the myth of Isis reflect upon your life? The statues of Isis were decorated with the sun, moon, and stars, and many emblems pertaining to the earth, over which Isis was believed to rule (as the guardian spirit of Nature personified). Several images of the goddess have been found upon which the marks of her dignity and position were still intact. According to Manly P. Hall: “The mysteries of Hermeticism, the great spiritual truths hidden from the world by the ignorance of the world, and the keys of the secret doctrines of the ancient philosophers, are all symbolized by the Virgin Isis. Veiled from head to foot, she reveals her wisdom only to the tried and initiated few who have earned the right to enter her sacred presence, tear from the veiled figure of Nature its shroud of obscurity, and stand face to face with the Divine Reality.” #Isis #EgyptianMythology #Mythology #Ancient Egypt Credits: Artist ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ https://www.deviantart.com/aquilinelo... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYbB... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Music ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Credits: World Music Official - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0Cf...
